A contradiction in its very existence
The granite-solid foundation upon which relationships are built
Freindships, marriages, love affairs, treaties, businesses
Slow, again, as rock to form, and as ageless

And yet fragile,
As easily broken as a crystal flute
And as hard to put back together
It will never, ever be the same,
It may someday hold water again
But it will never be
