I'm so glad to hear he's doing well, but I'm so afraid that they're going to try and race him again. So many of these race horses are run until they just fall apart. I'm hoping that they'll just put him out to pasture and let him live the rest of his life in peace. There are some owners that give off the impression that they care, when really all they see are the loss of $$$$$$. I honestly hope that Barbaro's owners are among the few that really do care, and that they're not just worried about the money. *sigh*

First off no they will never race him again, they wouldn't even try. They couldn't race him again if they wanted to, his injuries were too great. If they were worried about money, they wouldn't be spending SO much to try to save him, they could have collected the insurance money and had him put down. They just want him to live because they love him. They take him fresh cut grass twice a day...I don't think they are worried about the money. They bred this horse, they raised him, and they love him. Some horses are run util they fall apart, but he had an ufortunate accident. They have even said they only want him to have a pain free life, that is all they are interested in, so your fears of them only wanting money are unfounded in this case.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!
