It's hard to tell in this pic because Bower is only 10 weeks old but he is very often thought to be a pitbull-he's actually a boxer-shepard mix....I don't think he looks anything like a pit but who knows...

    oh boy..

Riley; australian shepherd..people always say that border collies don't come in tri color, so she must be an aussie.
Rebel; Aussie too, because border collies don't come in merle , also dalmatian, australian cattle dog, catahoula[sp?] leopard dog.. and more...

Lmao animalrescue-'Maggie's Puppy'. Although I really feel bad for people with Manchester Terriers...I'm sure they are always explaining that no, it's not a min pin, or a mini dobie, or a deformed dachshund.

My shepherd got called a wolf, Sam my akita/lab/?? got called a bear, and Boomer my husky/bc/akita?? got called a fox. LOL, by 12 year old kids. My shepherd gets wolf a lot though.

I had someone at the dog park yesterday swear up and down that Zoie was NOT a whippet. When I attempted to explain why we think she is a whippet cross, the lady yelled at me and told me she is not, that she is an english pointer cross. I asked if she meant GSP, and she said no, definately english pointer. Yes mmhmm this is all english pointer.

People always ask me if my doxies are mixed because they are piebalds, which you don't see that often. I hate having to tell people they are indeed dachsies.

I have a Curly Coated Retriever named Daisy that everyone mistakes for either a lab mix or a Labradoodle. She looks NOTHING like a Labradoodle. Speaking of CCR, does anyone else here have one?

    Well, Cochise is an aussie.
So far I have heard "mixed with what???, Aussie's are only black and white" That was about my favorite so far.
I have also heard dalmatian, catahoula leopard dog, sheltie (he's already too big for that), husky, and border collie.
I have to say that I wish if people didn't know what he was they would just politely guess rather than make silly comments such as the one up above, or "Aussie's don't come in that color" or "well he's a funny looking Aussie."
