55 Whales stranded on my beach!

I had seen this report on T V, and when I heard Cape Cod
I thought of you & wondered if this had happened near you.
What a great rescue effort by everyone. I'm sorry it had to

Are you serious? That is terrible! I wonder if certain companies don't use animals in their products? Does anyone know?

wow i can not x-press the sadness i felt at reading this. it is wonderfull that the majority of wales were saved but it still makes me mellow to knoe even one whale was lost. whales may not be my favorite animal but i do not like to hear any animal was suffering. i wish we knew the real reason for these mass beachings.

I saw this on BBC news this morning, and wow, what a sight! And Sandra got to be there, another wow! Thanx Sandra for helping them. I also love whales (and dolphins) and I'm captured by their wisdom and beauty. I could watch whale programmes for hours from telly!

I'm saddened that 10 of them didn't make it, but without all the people out on the beach, I'm sure the number would have been higher.

Yes, Kelly, there are companies that refuse to use animal products/testing. The only one I can think of at the moment is Tom's of Maine, but I know there are others. I found a link awhile back--I'll have to see if I can find it again.

BBC Picture Gallery

I just saw this picture gallery on BBC, and I've been staring that first pic for good 10 minutes with tears in my eyes. I don't have enough words to describe how grateful I am because of these kind people who helped those whales under the burning sun to stay cool. Wow, what a brilliant job they did! Thank You to all of them!

Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention, Sandra. When I got that email from you yesterday, I knew exactly where you were talking about, remembered walking on that wide stretch of beach (which we saw at low tide). Bless their hearts. Whales are magnificent creatures, and when we got to see them first hand, in the water where they belong, last summer, I thought it was the most incredible experience Helen and I had ever had. I still think that.

I watched this on the news this morning also. My, that was so awful that so many gorgeous creatures somehow got caught in the low tide. I would have been out there too trying to save as many as possible. Thank goodness a lot of them were saved!!! Thanks to caring people. I'm so grateful that the news sometimes shows us that there's a lot of caring people. God Bless every one of those individuals that cared enough to try and save as many whales as possible.

That is what I call a sad yet joyous occasion. What an experience it must of been. And what a feeling to know you helped save some of those whales.
