    Pee-tah. Pet-ah seems completely wrong because, like K9soul said, you're pronouncing the letters of the acronym, not what the letters stand for.

    You don't say ih-r-ess, you say eye-r-ess for the Internal Revenue Service since that is the way you say I, R, and S. You don't pronounce the I like you would if you said the whole word Internal

    I've always pronounced PETA as Pee-tah, but that doesn't mean that I pronounce ethical weirdly..

    Everytime I hear them discussed on the news it's always been pronounced Pee-Tah
