Lexi it is a good thing I don't live next to you. I'd have so many of those boxers you find.
Those pups are so adoreable I can't beleive they are there still as well.

Honestly, when I stop by my SPCA every few weeks for Logan to visit (they love seeing how great she is and looks) I can't even go into the kennel. It just breaks my heart. How can people be so cruel to abandon a dog who they don't think is cute anymore? I'm sure when people see "pitbull mix" they go into a panic and walk right past.
All those dogs are adorable! I don't know how you can stand it. I'd be crying constantly. When things get better for me, financially and physically, I'm getting another dogster. I will hug and kiss all those dogs in my mind before going to bed.

It's so strange seeing all of those animals in the shelter -- over here, they wouldn't last an hour. The shelter here doesn't do a huge background check on applicants or anything, they are basically a pet shop. The animals go so quickly (except adult cats) and there are huge waiting lists. Puppies especially don't last.

Awww they are all so cute. I wish I could take one of those boxer puppies.

"not cute anymore" is a horrible excuse. She is the cutest I hope she finds a good loving home that will treat her like she deserves to be treated.

R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.

Wolfsoul, in Ionia County in Michigan they don't do a background check either. I hate when I am there and you know the dog will be back because it's not going to a good home. Several other shelters around us do background check, some just call reference and others don't do same day adoptions. One place I volunteer at does a questioner/background info meeting, then they will disscuss what type of personallity you want in a dog(not which cute dog you think you want) then you meet a few dogs, if the adoption coordinator thinks you are a match then you have to come back another time with any currents dogs to make sure they get along, then they schedule a home visit. Then if you are lucky you can adopted the dog. Sometimes it seems like county shelters have no standards and private resues might make it to hard that people won't adopted from them because they just don't want to get there hearts broke by a person who doesn't even know them! Anyways I strongly believe you should always look into adopting from a shelter or resue group! Both our cats and 2 dogs are resue or shelter animals and they are all awesome pets!

This thread breaks my heart, I feel like crying. It makes you stop and think just how many dogs all over the United States are sitting in shelters needing a home, so many of them will never get one. Why cant people take the time to get there pets fixed

I want the pit puppy, she looks a lot like Ebony. Those boxer pups are so adorable. I cant believe the owner gave up the dog because he/she didnt think "she was cute anymore" she is adorable. I honestly dont know if I could work in a shelter I would be in tears every single day. Kudos to you that do it.

Thank you Kay for the beautiful sig!

Wow, what a nice group of dogs & kitties. I am teary-eyed, especially over that sweetie whose owners abandoned her because she wasn't cute anymore. That makes me so mad Sad thing is, they'll probably go adopt another "cute" puppy. Hard to believe their rate is only 10%, over here there's rarely a dog that stays more than a week or two. when I was looking for a second, I went back time & time again and was told they had no dogs for adoption, every dog there was spoken for.
Lute, I think that sweet husky is sending yo a message...
