You create a peaceful mental picture Richard. Of course happiness is being ABLE to take a late morning vacation nap! The cat is the icing on the cake.

Unhappiness is, waking up at 2:00 AM, hearing a crash downstairs and hoping and praying it is ONLY a cat and not a burglar.

Annoyance is: waking up at 2:00 AM, hearing a crash and KNOWING it is only a cat! Oh boy do I know this one!

Happiness is

The swing in mood when you get at the door of your home (after a crappy day) knowing that you have a friend on the other side.

Upon waking up in the morning having your cat follow you into the bathroom with meows and then giving you a quick lick on each ankle.

The weather cooling off enough for you to get a 'lap nap' from the cat.

waking up in the middle of the night with one sock on.....and then remembering that you fell asleep with no socks on....

then you realize that the sock you have on is made of cat.

happiness is coming home to to someone who has slept all day long and has no opinion on current events...

Me, too, Richard. Some days I long for the simplicity of their lives. Sleep, eat, get petted, sleep, eat, watch the birds, chase a mouse, sleep, eat, sleep, etc.
