Thanks for the reply, Kay. At least one person on PT loves him.

I took him to the vet about an hour ago I mostly wanted to confirm that it was indeed a hot spot as I haven't personally had a dog with one before. She said that it was and it looked like it was almost healed up. I told her the stuff (Allercaine) that I had been using and she said that was fine to continue using that. She said just the one spot needed to be shaved the others were just a few scabs that were almost off. She would have shaved the spot for me but I asked if it was okay if I did it instead as Nebo is a big chicken at the vet and he would have mostly likely not cooperated for her too well. She said that was fine so I stopped at my work on the way home and shaved the spot. So now poor Nebo boy has a bald spot but it looks better already I hope it will all clear up soon.

She gave him a routine exam as well and said he looked great, good teeth, perfect weight, normal temperature, etc. so I'm happy for that.

    Hey Bee Butt,

So, got a "naked" spot now ??

I hope your hot spots get better really soon.

Amy, how many spots does he have? What did the vet reckon about how he got them??

I know my Mum's dog gets hot spots in summer from new grass shoots ..... and she uses some natural stuff on him to get rid of them. He gets them on his belly normally because he love to lie like a "flat checken" on the grass - you know tummy flat on the lawn

    {{{hugs}} to you Nebo ....
    M!

He had one main "spot" (the shaved area) and some very small scabby areas on both sides of his tail. She said it was probably from the moisture getting trapped in his coat after swimming which is what I thought. Next time he swims I'm going to try to dry him off better, its just hard with such a dense coat.
