    Wow, now there's 8!!!

Now you've got me all anxious for baby bird pictures, I've never really seen a good picture of a baby tiel.

My friend invited me to come down to South Carolina with her sometime this summer, now there is really a reason to go! I mean, with 8 birds looking for homes, who could pass up that chance? Hehe, and my mother won't even let me within 10 feet of a petstore if I have any cash on me...I wonder what she would do if I came home from vacation with a bird...

Anyhoo, good luck with everything. Hopefully Milly and Roger will also realize that eight is enough!

    Okay, thanks!!

Wow...8 eggs! Enough is enough...lol, I hope that if they are fertile, you don't have problems finding homes for them!

Haha! Lucky you. My RB hen, Lime, gave me 10 or something eggs once. It got to the point where I wasn't sure whether she had started another clutch or not LOL (it was a single clutch).

You know Logan, Milton passed away last week and Bessie is getting lonely. I'm planning on adopting a cockatiel soon. It crossed my mind that you might have babies soon. I think South Carolina to Chicago IL is a bit far though . Plus I think Bessie might need a friend a little sooner than your babies would be ready.

So far, no babies. Yesterday, the first one should have hatched, but I "listened" as Popcornbird instructed me to the last time we went through this and I couldn't hear anything. So far today, I don't hear anything either. But remember, she laid 8 eggs over a 2 week period, so anything is possible. I never candled the eggs to see if they were fertile so I have no idea.

I'll keep you posted. There are 7 eggs in there. They kicked one out last week that was cracked (and it was not a fertile egg).

Keep me posted, as my mother and father may want one or two of the babies!

I will definitely keep you posted, Kari. Tonight, if I can get Milly to get off of those eggs for a minute, I think we will candle them to see if any are developing. I guess we need to know at this point.

OK, I have a question I'm dying to know the answer to:

How can Milly, with her tiny bottom, sit on that many eggs? Even if Roger sat too, their little bums would not cover all the eggs. Inquiring, if somewhat addled, mind wants to know.

I can't believe it. I just saw this thread.

Oh my, Logan! Even 7 eggs is a pretty big family!

I will be anxious for the updates - for your sake and Roger and Millie's too!

Somehow, those birds just know how to fluff up, pull those eggs underneath them, and cover them all, MOFF. They just know. It is amazing.

No babies, but they are still sitting. I imagine that these eggs are not fertile. I never checked. Wish now that I had. But they are diligent about it, so I'll leave them alone. Many of them have still not been there 21 days.

I don't think we will have any babies this time around, which is ok by me. They are still sitting on them, but the first should have hatched a week ago. Of course, she layed eggs for two weeks, so some might still be viable, but I sort of doubt it at this point. I just feel badly for Roger and Milly who have worked so hard, sitting on those eggs.
