    Introducing.. my $450 fish..

I'll get to the thread title in a bit. First, here are some pictures of my new bettas. I adopted them from Devon (Flamepony12).

Here's Akela, a pretty girl from BcKrazy's spawn:

    Dante

    And Dante's wifey, Destry

They were shipped overnight from Agoura Hills, California, to Berkley, California (to Diana/BCBlondie). Diana was planning on driving up to Shelton, Washington for Camp and I was planning on driving down to Seattle to meet her, so it sounded perfect! Well, on our way back, my very recently fixed car (fixed TWO days before we left!!), died. It completely died. We had to tow it back from just outside Seattle back to Vancouver... for $450 dollars.

    Oh, geez!

Those were very expensive bettas! Sorry about the car, how annoying!! - but other than that I'd say your new bettas are almost worth the fee! They are very beautiful!

OMG, Ashley! I'm so sorry, that sounds like an insane trip. I hope your car is able to be fixed. I hate cars.

At least the Bettas are safe and sound, but wow, that just blows.

I was fortunate to be reeled in with your Fish Story!!!!!

Your Betta's survived, that in itself is such great news, sorry about the darned car eeking out!!

Dante seems to be admiring his likeness, he's absolutely striking!!! Whew, such a beauty. He and Destry are so amazing to look at .

All of your pictures are , of course, were worth the wait.

Your fishing trip was worth every dollar !!! Small price for a Happy future I'd say. So glad everyone made it home safely!!!!

    Great post!!!!

Wow, sounds like my Escort. I'm sorry you had to deal with that, but, wow, your fish are pretty. I'm sure they're worth it, hahaha. They are gorgeous!

Yeey, I'm so happy they're home safely, but once again, I'm so sorry about your car

How does Akela look.. BLUE? XD Your camera's awesome. None of the pictures I took of Dante really showed his true colors, but your pictures show them perfectly!

Can't wait to hear about the spawn(s)! ^_~

LOL I have no idea how Akela ended up blue I was playing with the settings in the manual mode.. so I guess I did something wrong. =P

Dante and Destry are in their own 10 gallon tanks to be conditioned before they breed. I remembered to add in the heater this morning and by the time I got home from work, he had a big bubblenest already! =P I don't think he's gonna need the full 2 weeks of conditioning!

I found a hubby for Akela too! I recently rehomed some of my breeding quality males (because I didn't have females for them).. I'm going to borrow one that I sold to a friend. He's a blue rosetail HM. Excellent branching. I think he'll pair up with Akela really well!

aloefiuaw#34r, so exciting! Keep us updated!

Dante's always been a BIG bubblenester, so he should be ready in no time

Akela's spawn should be successful too, She was totally prepared for my spawn attempt, but Kale had no idea, haha. Can't wait to see those results either! ^_^
