Hi Laura! Tell sweet Amy that Eli has become fat & lazy! He does not like getting into the litterpan any more, and prefers to pee etc. on the linoleum instead *sigh* My newest baby boy Avery who has micropthalmia is just the most delighful and talkative little guy. He's teething so when he's on my lap which he insists on every chance he gets, he bites, bites, BITES!
I try to redirect his behaviour by substituting a toy instead, but he loses interest fast and wants back up on my lap to start that biting and bleating (he sounds like a baby goat lol) again. He's all over the place now, and gets around very well despite limited vision. He seems to see shadows much like our special guy Gabriel (Megs boy). I've trapped countless cats & kittens so far this year. One of the last trappings was a kitten that had fallen into a storm drain a few blocks from my house. "Stormie" (he earned that name lol) was pulled from the manhole quickly, after I lowered his panting agitated mama "Lucy" into the manhole in a cage. He had gone through a pipe between manholes, but when he heard his mama he tottered right out. It was thought that 2 kittens fell down, but it turned out the other was a block away crammed behind a shed with his 2 remaining littemates. Getting them out was another fiasco as well, but with help from the great neighbors who pulled apart a stockade fence, we got them all. Lucy went to her feeders/and furever home yesterday.
The babies all had terrible conjunctivitis which cleared up very quickly after their eyes were cleaned & medicated. They are doing very well now.
Many, many more tails to tell...but later.
P.S. Skippy is doing wonderful as ever...I just love him even when he covers my sweat soaked face with his lovely black fur lol!![]()
