In my childhood, I had a Poodle (when I was an infant), a Cocker Spaniel, a German Shepherd, an Australian Shepherd, a Bichon Frise, and a Rottie. Now, I have a Border Collie and a Corgi mix.

All except for the Cocker Spaniel (who we gave back to the breeder after 2 years, because he showed child aggression) were rescues. My Mom found the Miniature Poodle on a country road. The GSD was going to be abandoned at the shelter by neighbors. The Aussie was from the city SPCA. The Bichon was a Champion show dog who was retired into our family. The Rottie was from an abusive home and was being fostered by friends of ours.
