From the shouts downstairs, I suspect that Germany have just gone one up! It's great that so many have turned out to support their team in the play offs.
I expect that Lily is at the match?

You up there in Northern Germany may have rain- we in the South still have the best weather ever.
I liked the good atmosphere all that brought over to our country. I feel most people had not expected our team to go so far. Of course I'm NOT watching the game- as I didn't see the others either![]()
Only one more to go, Barbara, and the fever will be over for another four years.
Well apart from the Europeans, all the club championships, the normal league games .. blah de blah de blah ...
3:1 - Germany won!!!
They were wonderful tonight, if they had only played like this in the semi final! *sigh* But then again, you're always as good as your opponent allows you to be. One last time, we hear the car parades outside (well, unless the Italian community here has a reason to celebrate tomorrow).
Only one match left (the final), and everything is over. Like Barbara has said, this World Cup has brought a great and positive atmosphere to our country, and even when you're not too much interested in soccer, it has infected you. It was phantastic, and I'm sad that it's over now.

Anyone here watching the final? It's live on tv right now. And what a dramatic start! France is already leading 1:0 (by penalty)!

I saw the last 20 min. of it. It's France/Italy - 1-1, so extra time is just starting now. I really don't know who to cheer for.
Well, since it's the final, it IS exiting, so I may stay awake.
In 92, Denmark won, what a great atmosphere in town, John and went out in town and everywhere "We are the champions" were played. It really was special!
Also, my mom used to watch all the football games, and I'm glad she got to see it before she died.

OMG, till now, I also wasn't sure who to root for, but geez, I cannot believe what Zidane just did!!!And it was his very last match!! I can only shake my head about this.
The Italians look tired, but now I'm supporting them!
BTW, Randi, I remember the Danish team of 1992! They were phantastic, a pleasure to watch!
