    UM does this company allow Rap? Hip Hop? how about Easy Listening? any song you want to pick can be sonsidered PC uncorrect. i.e. Super Freak? or Donna Summers song She works hard for the money? How about ANYTHING that is gangsta rap? or most country music? one that comes to mind is queen of the double wide trailer, oh and the Hit by Cher Gypsy? let's see who havent we offended yet? Jasper is Shawnee and for the record he loves the song in question, doesn't even take offense to the songs in Disneys Peter Pan not even the one on how the "redman" became red. So I think she should crank up the songs play it and enjoy the music.

    People are so sensitive these days. Times were different when that song was written. Being PC is such a load of crap. I mean everyone should be respectful but being PC doesn't rid the world of racism. I sometimes think people just want SOMETHING to complain about no matter how petty it is.

    R.I.P my dear Sweet Teddy. You will be missed forever. We love you.

    Everything is open to PC editing, unfortunately. Louis Armstrong, Hymns in church, you name it, the PC police have hit it.

    So I guess on disco day "Play that Funky Music White Boy" is out of the question??

    -----------------------------
    Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
    I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
    Night-time would find me in Rosa's cantina;
    Music would play and Felina would whirl.

    Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
    Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
    My love was deep for this Mexican maiden;
    I was in love but in vain, I could tell.

    One night a wild young cowboy came in,
    Wild as the West Texas wind.
    Dashing and daring,
    A drink he was sharing
    With wicked Felina,
    The girl that I loved.

    So in anger I

    Challenged his right for the love of this maiden.
    Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
    My challenge was answered in less than a heart-beat;
    The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

    Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
    Shocked by the FOUL EVIL deed I had done.
    Many thoughts raced through my mind as I stood there;
    I had but one chance and that was to run.

    Out through the back door of Rosa's I ran,
    Out where the horses were tied.
    I caught a good one.
    It looked like it could run.
    Up on its back
    And away I did ride,

    Just as fast as I

    Could from the West Texas town of El Paso
    Out to the bad-lands of New Mexico.

    Back in El Paso my life would be worthless.
    Everything's gone in life; nothing is left.
    It's been so long since I've seen the young maiden
    My love is stronger than my fear of death.

    I saddled up and away I did go,
    Riding alone in the dark.
    Maybe tomorrow
    A bullet may find me.
    Tonight nothing's worse than this
    Pain in my heart.

    And at last here I

    Am on the hill overlooking El Paso;
    I can see Rosa's cantina below.
    My love is strong and it pushes me onward.
    Down off the hill to Felina I go.

    Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys;
    Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
    Shouting and shooting I can't let them catch me.
    I have to make it to Rosa's back door.

    Something is dreadfully wrong for I feel
    A deep burning pain in my side.
    Though I am trying
    To stay in the saddle,
    I'm getting weary,
    Unable to ride.

    But my love for

    Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen,
    Though I am weary I can't stop to rest.
    I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle.
    I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

    From out of nowhere Felina has found me,
    Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
    Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
    One little kiss and Felina, good-bye.

    This song is full of hatred and Un PC ideals.

    Murder, a floozy, mayhem, police brutality and it all happens because this guy wanted a little interracial something something with a VIRGIN dancer!!

    LIke if she really like the dude, why was she sharing a cup with someone else?

    Cheating?
    -------------------------------

    I was standing in line at Magic Mountain during LAPD night years ago (The park was closed to the public=just cops.

    The had just installed TV screens that showed cartoon to the people in line.

    They started a Speedy Gonzalez cartoon and the numbskull in front of me began with the racist comments.....Mexicans this, Mexicans that..I was more offended by the fact that this AH worked for my city, as opposed to what he was saying about the "mexican mouse" running around on the screen.

    =========================

    MOst likely it was someone who had it out for your friend and used that as a reason.

    Whatever you do, don't sing it at the office. The PC Police will come and take you away!

    I found out more to the story -- not that it makes any difference.
    The person who complained is an Alaska Native. I'm not sure which Indian tribe or Eskimo (That's probably a non-PC term now) group she belongs to. She evidently introduces herself as: "An Authentic Alaskan".

    She and my sister have a history. Sis is an ice skating addict who had a screen saver on her work computer of Michelle Kwan doing the "Charlotte" ice skating move (whatever that is). This Authentic Alaskan filed a complaint that it was pornographic and my sister was asked to remove it.

    In addition, she is a "holier than thou" Christian who replies "I'm saved and blessed" if you ask her how she is. She also has a huge nailed and bloody Jesus statue in her workplace and reads her Bible through every staff meeting. The statue grosses my sister out -- not because of any religious conviction (or lack thereof) but because of the gore factor. But, since she is an "Authentic Alaskan" and won a discrimination lawsuit a few years back, she is bullet proof.

    I told my sister that she works in a hostile work environment. I wouldn't last a week in a place like that.

    Really people! Are we that overly sensitive that we are so easily offended?

    Authentic Alaskan? Dang I want to be authentic too. What are the rest of the Alaskans, cheap imitations?

    It seems ridiculous to me.

    Anyway thankfully since my office is at home, I'm free to sing what I want if I get the urge

    I frankly am quite tired of all the PC crap. There is always someone who will take offence to almost anything. Some people think their rights are more important than anyone else's and that everyone should make allowances for them, yet at the same time it is forcing others not to have their own freedoms so as not to offend someone else. Unless someone is specifically trying to offend or harm someone maliciously, I think everyone should take a chill pill and stop all this crybabying about political correctness. Let everyone live their own lives as they see fit, if it's not actually physically harming someone else. Yeah I could take offence at comments made about short redheads, but really what's the point, more people need to get a thicker skin and get over themselves. Nobody is more important than anyone else or should have more rights than everyone else because of skin color or religion, etc. I say to each their own, I won't try to force my rights on others but I don't appreciate others trying to force their rights on me. In trying to be more "tolerant" of everyone, it's gotten to the point where people are intolerant to almost everyone that isn't what they beleive in. Common courtesy has become uncommon and it's just rediculous. It's like one person gets up and says they only like vanilla ice cream, and they should stop serving any other flavor but vanilla and that their right to only have to see vanilla is more important than what anyone else might want. Then there is a court battle and they actually uphold that vanilla should be the only flavor sold anymore. I won't force someone to buy chocolate if they only like vanilla, but I want choclate to be available if that's what I want.

    Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

    KAWLIGA- Maybe they missheard her singing that word, I haven't heard the song but saying that word aloud can also sound like a certain "N" word, as I've said I haven't actually heard the song so it could be prounced differently.
    I loved that sound as a kid. Doesn't sound like the "N" word at all. It is pronounced Caw-Lie-Jah! With an emphasis on LIE.
