Just a hint, as far as recording programs go, I know that most computers should already have a basic one. It's a Microsoft thing, I guess.

Anyways. I discovered one on my old computer after some digging. Go to Start >> Accessories >> Entertainment >> Sound Recorder. It's basic. All you need is a microphone.
