Have you seen any patterns with the fin damage? I know people who have had multiple boys damage their fins at once and discovered problems in their water stats. Poor guys, I hope they re-grow soon.

Nope, no patterns. I know Tom suffered when I got sick and couldn't keep up with water changes. Angel's fins got damaged after spawning. It wasn't too bad but after that little tear, came a lot more. :\ I'm not sure what happened with the MG DT boy. He's been in the spawning tank a lot lately so maybe it's just the stress getting to him? It def. looks like nibbling.
