Personally, if I had inside/outside cats, I would vaccinate them every other year, including rabies.

Right now I only have one kitty, Max. I also had one other kitty, Speckles, who was sent to the RB last December.

When I first adopted them, I took them every year for about 3 years. The last time they were vaccinated, Speckles was really sick for about 4 days and Max was very lethargic for about a week. I said never again and that was about 6 years ago. Now, I will only take Max to the vet if he is sick.

Others may have a different opinion, but I think yearly vaccinations are not necessary for indoor only kitties and they are not exposed to any other kitties.

I used to volunteer at my local Humane Society's cat shelter and as soon as I got home, I would isolate myself and take off all my clothes and put them directly in the washing machine before touching either one of my kitties....and of course wash my hands thoroughly.
