I am sorry to hear that you had to make such a tough decision, but glad to hear you did what you felt was best for Tyson. I am glad that you will get to see him a few times before you move. Do you think you could set up some play dates for Thor and Tyson at Tyson's new home, so that Thor will get an idea as to where Tyson is now? (That is what we did for Ginger when her friends moved a couple of miles away - she caught on pretty quick.)

Even though it is painful for you, you did what was best for Tyson. That shows true love. He sounds like he will live a wonderful life!!! You will just have to help Thor through this by lavishing love on him. That will be the hardest part because you can't explain to Thor what happened. Maybe, at the new house, there will be a next door dog that Thor can play with. Good luck. You did the right thing.

Give yourself a HUGE pat on the back for being a thoughtful, caring and wonderful pet owner who put the welfare of their dog before their own feelings - if only everyone was like you.........

It must have been so hard for you to come to this choice, but you know you made the right one. (((HUGS))) Tyson will be forever grateful that you did this. Good thoughts coming your way.

Awww, Shannon. My heart is breaking for you. I hope you know you did a very selfless thing for Tyson. Not many people would be willing to put aside their feelings for the sake of what's best for their dog. You are amazing.

I can feel the hurt in your post. I hope you feel better knowing that what you did is really best for him.

Thanks for the PM. I would have missed this as I'm not able to come around as much as I'd like.

Well said! I cant imagine how hard it is to give away a dog but you found him what sounds like a good home! So try not to feel too bad and you will still be able to visit him?

I would like to thank each and everyone of you. All your kind words have brought me great comfort and reassurance (sp?) as well as many tears. Just when I think I can't cry anymore there I go again.....

I think Thor is pretty PO'd..........I came home tonight to garbage all over the house!!!!!!All I could do was laugh!!!!! Taking him by to see Tyson when he (Tyson) gets settled is a GREAT idea (thanks ) No worries Thor is getting lots of loving & belly rubs (as if he wasn't spoiled enough already)

Thanks again for all the hugs, kinds words and thoughts.....It really makes me feel better, knowing I made the right choice for him....

    Tyson I miss you
You will always be in my heart

    TRIPLE DITTO!
As painful as your decision was, know that he'll be loved to pieces, have lots of room to run and play and will never forget you either. You sound like a great mom and wife who needs a few more hours in the day! Whew! Who says dogs don't "get even'? Hmmmmm. good job with the garbage, Thor!

You are such a great person to consider your pups feelings before your own. I am glad that You can laugh, and that Thor is helping you out. Whenever you feel like crying, just give Thor a big hug, and he will give you lots of love
