I have this problem with my puppy, actually he is a year and a half so he has no excuse. I put about a cup of natures miracle into my carpet shampoo machine, let it stay on the carpet about 10 minutes, then get what I can back up. This has helped and you can do a large area. You can use a blacklight too I believe.
