Dominance issue?? *pics*

So I have a 4 month old black lab male unaltered (they won't neuter here till 6 months) I will DEFINATLY be fixing him without a question, but for the time being I have a few questions. He is a very dominant male he is a HUGE handful for me. He is excellent for my husband but not for me he bites me harder, growls at me, barks and has started humping me I"ve never had this problem with any of my male animals before is humping a dominace issue??? Anyways I need help. He is clever he can sit, stay, shake a paw and lie down I taught him all these tricks. I make him sit before coming out of his crate, going outside, coming inside and being fed. When he nips and bites really hard he sometimes draw blood so I talked to the vet and he said to hold him on the ground gently until he stops wiggling thats what his mother would do and we try this. So what else can I do there are no puppy classes in my area I';ve searched... Clases don't begin till 6 months, I will however keep looking... Any insight on my stubborn pooch LOL
He is also still not housetrained is this normal??

I probably shouldn't even try to answer, as there are incredibly more knowledgeable people here, but I will say one thing I remember well from a friend's dog. He was a huge male black pittie, just sweet and loving, and I met him at 5 weeks. But as he got older, and saw me at any time, the first dominant thing he did was hump me. I also got kisses, but according to my vet, oops, I was putty under his paws. I kept telling him I was too old to have puppies, but seriously, it wasn't funny or cute after a while.

I think it is normal if he isn't housebroken yet as you just got him. He's very cute..congrats!! as for the dominance issue, when he starts doing that..say a firm no and eventually he'll stop. (atleast I hope so!) I am no expert, though. I am sure others have more advice for you.

I'm sorry I don't have much advice for you. Nuetering should really help most these problems. It's normal that he's not potty trained yet... some learn it faster then others. Hope someone can help you.

yes humping is a dominance issue.......is the doggie way to say whos the boss, and maybe since he is a male (females also do that, well dominant females) and is getting bigger he might think "i´m gonna be the boss here" so i think you should walk away when he does that or hold his front paws or just de-balance him, so he gets the idea thats not good .........or perhaps you should hump him like a dog would do and do as your vet said holding him as if you where his mom cause thats the way a mom teaches doggie manners......

There are much more knowlegable people here than me, but I would suggest following Nothing in life is free. He needs to know NOW that you are the alpha and he can't get away doing those things. If you aren't familiar with NILIF, you should google it, there is a ton of info out there.
