Whats your favorite wild cat?

Mine is adult male lions with those magnificent manes. Several years ago Soncat and I went to a zoo up in northern New Jersey. The major attraction that day were the five (I think) baby cubs only a few weeks old. Of course mommy lion and daddy lion were out there with them. It was funny how the babies were climbing all over their daddy but he never even tried to chase them off of him. Well, mommy gave a slight roar and the babies lined up and started to follow her back inside. Except for one little guy. Daddy lion went over to the baby, smacked the little guy on the butt with his huge paw and sent him flying to where mommy was waiting.

I agree with the choice of the male lion. They are so regal and so powerful.



I took this picture in Kenya a few years back. This guy was asleep in the tall grass and we woke him. He sniffed the air and decided we weren't breakfast (you never get out of the vehicle!) and laid back down.

I love lionesses (female lion), tigers of course.., cheetahs, panthers, bobcats, etc. , etc. !!

My favorite is the serval. Here is a pic of me feeding my serval his evening snack.
