Thread: If you are married, how old were you on your big day?

  1. #46
Justin and I were both 18 when we got married. Our 6th anniversary is coming up on July 17.

Justin's mom was 17 and his dad was 20, their 30th anniversary is in a couple weeks. My parents were both 20 on their wedding day, their 30th anniversary is a week after Justin's parents anniversary.

There was 20 years difference between my Mom and Dad. When they got married in 1948, Mom was 24 and Dad was 44. Their happy marriage lasted until Dad passed in 1995.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

My mom was 4 years older than my dad, which was nearly scandalous when they married. She was 29 - considered by many to be an "old maid," and he was a month short of 25 when they married. This Sunday would have been their 51st wedding anniversary, and my mom's 80th birthday, had she not died of Lou Gehrig's disease.

Well, I do want to get married. I just feel like I'm not ready yet or mature enough. We talk about it all the time and I even have some money saved up for a wedding, but it won't be happening for a few more years. First I'd like to become more financially stable, and I want to go back to school in the fall.
