Thank you CatNapper for the beautiful siggy!
I was almost 28 and he had just turned 24. The four years between our ages was not a problem, it was the wide gulf in our world experience that had a dramatic impact. I had lived away from home for 10 years, travelled and worked in several other countries, and had a lot of experience in handling things alone. He'd been in school for 19 years, was about to enter 4 more, and was utterly miserable living in England for a few years. I was looking for a life-partner, I believe now that he was looking for a substitute mom.
im getting married in late september or october. I will be just turning 19 and he will be 19 in afew months.

There was 20 years difference between my Mom and Dad. When they got married in 1948, Mom was 24 and Dad was 44. Their happy marriage lasted until Dad passed in 1995.Originally Posted by lute

Until one has loved an animal, part of their soul remains unawakened.
My mom was 4 years older than my dad, which was nearly scandalous when they married. She was 29 - considered by many to be an "old maid," and he was a month short of 25 when they married. This Sunday would have been their 51st wedding anniversary, and my mom's 80th birthday, had she not died of Lou Gehrig's disease.
