    WOW!! Those pictures are just terrific. The ultra-close-ups are always fascinating to look at.

    As for the bird - it looks like a mockingbird to me. It is hard to tell for sure without seeing the flying silhouette but it appears to have the white bands, mockingbird beak and the breast speckles that the younger birds have.

    great pictures! those flowers are beautiful! I think the slug is cute in his own way.
