Dogs who are going to be shown are done so to prove themselves worthy of being bred. I can understand if you're just showing to gain the experience and have some fun, but you can do that just by signing yourself on as a handler.
I just don't see how responsible breeding is so "unethical". I plan to show and breed Pekingeses in the distant future, so that just irked me because it seems like my plans would be "unethical".
As for plans for a pup or a dog, we'll talk about this 10 years from now because I can't fathom the possibility of bringing a new dog into our household. I want a show Peke desperately, but I still need to do more research and find myself an active mentor.
