He's a very nice boy!

Your best bet for finding a fish like that is going to aquabid.com and looking under crowntails. BCBetta also has some interesting salamander lines that aren't exactly like that guy's colors but they're some-what similar. But... her fish are pretty pricey. Bettatalk also has some very nice fish.. I'm not sure if she'd have that color available though.

Black (Melano) isn't rare, per se. Melano is a fickle little thing to work with. Melano females (true melanos, not copper blacks and such) aren't fertile. It has been a while since I studied genetics but I *think* the best way to get melanos is to breed a Melano male with a steel blue melano geno (melano carrier) female. The steel blue wouldn't produce as much irridescence as say a green female would. I have a steel blue melano geno girl I've wanted to breed but she was way too big for my males.. and now that I have decent stock, she's getting too old.

The crowntail though, is multicolor. So it's very possible that other breeders could have the same or similar colors.
