OH MY WORD! They are so beautiful! If you had a male that looked like him (assuming you are planning on breeding them), would you be willing to, possibly, let me take him off your hands? (Of course, I would give pay just like any person pays a breeder or whatnot. I just feel weird saying "Hey, would you sell this companion to me") His colours are so strikingly beautiful. The funny thing is, his colours match my graduation colours EXACTLY. (I'll show you pics, if you like.). He is pretty. The DT female stole my heart, too.

I have never been so smitten with a feeshy before.

P.S. Do you have a link for her site?

You're in the US right? If you are, then yep! I'm going to go get a US Wildlife Importing/Exporting license so I'll be able to ship in Canada as well as America. It'll take a couple generations until some double tails start showing up though. I'll get 100% mustard gas in the first spawn but no double tails. If I spawn a double tail with one of the babies from the first spawn, I'll get 50% double tails and 50% single tail with the double tail gene.

Since the breeder conditions her bettas, I added them into the spawn tank right away. He doesn't seem too interested in her so I may have to switch fish and pair up my double tail girl with my super delta male. Same results in the end.. but I'd just rather go with this pair since I know they came from great lines.

Male is just gorgeous and females are adorable. I'm looking for a yellow or a mg girl right now. I am just in love with that single tail you have reserved for the male. Is there a reason you aren't going to breed the double tail girl to him?

Most breeders don't pair up double tail with double tail. It results in 100% double tail fry but a lot of them will have bent spines. I haven't been researching genetics for that long but I *think* the only safe way to get a decent amount of them is to breed a single tail with the double tail gene, to a double tail. It would result in 50% double tail and 50% single tail with double tail gene.. which could again be used to breed to a double tail.

Yep! We live in Louisiana! I am all giddy and excited. I bet you are overjoyed!

Out of idle curiosity, how can you tell that a feesh is interested in another feesh? Poor MG male isn't going to get any lovin'.

    Thank you!

Hehe, the MG male actually ended up spawning with the female today. But because I was a dummy and didn't check on them enough, when I finally noticed that there were only about 8 eggs, she ate 5 of them! I was happy with the 8 since I wanted a small spawn and all I really need is just one baby from this spawn to get my second generation (the one I'm really aiming for). I *hope* there are still a few remaining.. but I released the female again in hopes of getting a few more eggs out of her.

People have different methods for breeding bettas but what I do is, I put the female in a clear container (I usually use a 2L pop bottle. It's cheap and works!) The male will start flaring and will usually begin bubblenesting. If he doesn't, I add a bit of somebody else's bubblenest to get him going. To tell if the female wants to spawn, I look for vertical stripes. It's hard to tell with the opaque females but all of my females have always been willing to spawn.. it's the males I have trouble with.

If he didn't have the swimming issues, he could easily go for 20.. but I think most breeders would probably charge about 30.
