I bet they do like my family did with our big dogs - outside with the hose whenever possible - especially after a certain lovely gold-and-white St. Bernard came back black from her ribcage all the way down, from chasing frogs ...

In wintertime, the entire bathroom would be lined with old towels before even attempting that endeavor, but once her collar came off, she knew what would be happening, and pretty much resigned herself to her fate!

Yeah, I wouldn't want the chore of bathing a dog that size, and I would say that he was a bit overfed if that picture is real.

Wow!!!! I don't remember that dog of the day, I didn't realize that dogs could get that big. He is still so handsome though.

Yes, it is an English Mastiff. Albeit a very overweight one with several double chins. Typically mastiffs range from 33-36" at the shoulder and weigh from 175-245 lbs. I can vouch for their truly being the Gentle Giants -- full of love and playfulness, mine has the biggest heart and always makes me smile !

My Chanel is barely a year and a half and is 200 lbs., but solid muscle.

I agree that the person in the picture seems to be very petite and of course with her sitting behind the dog it makes the animal appear much more massive.

Attached is a Halloween picture of Chanel, at 8 months and about 125 lbs. I am 5'9" so as you can see she was a big baby. I will locate a current picture of her (at 200#). My Boxer, Roz can walk underneath Chanel's belly without ducking.

I LOVE Chanel!! What a beauty. I think big dogs are the greatest and far less likely to bite you than a little one. Keep posting the pictures of Chanel, I can't get enough.

I have no clue what Shiloh would do but I think Lolly would head for the hills. She's a bit scared of big dogs. Reece would charge right up to the dog and stand on his tippy toes to say hi!
