My co-worker had a black and tan coonhound (possibly a mix, she was in a litter of pups that a coonhound breeder dropped off at the shelter) and trust me there's a definite resemblence. I'd guess you would have had to have met Pookie to believe it. Kiara's definitely a mix but I still really think she has black and tan coonhound in her. Whatever she is, she's cute!

I think the points of her ears would be more level with her eyes and she'd have a domed skull if she had coonhound in her.

Just because a dog has a certain breed in them doesn't mean they are going to have the skeletal structure of that breed they may just have the markings or even behavioral traits of that breed.

Yes, of course I mean a mix.
She doesn't need every single characteristic of them to be a mix. I do believe she has some coonhound in her, wether it be 75% or .2%

Her bark especially reminds me of a hound - that's what one of the people told me as well. She has a funny bark.

Since I see her everyday I think she looks more like a coonhound than any of the other guesses I've heard.

Wow! Until this thread I really never realized it. But it's true she does probably have some coon hound.
