Pretty Pixy! What horrible purrents your previous owners were. I'm glad they were punished, but it's not enough.

I'm so happy you have a wonderful new home with loving purrents who treat you like the royalty you are. Maine Coons are very special cats (I'm not prejudiced at all ) Enjoy your special day as our COTD.

    TO PIXIE's OWNER

Hi. I just wanted to tell you that I have a tripod, too.. My Colby is missing a front leg. He's had 2 surgeries. The first one left him with a stump, and he still tried to use it all the time. The second surgery took the stump as well as his shoulder blade.. He walks much better, and can even run up and down the tall cat trees with the rest of my cats. I would recommend you check into having her whole leg removed. It will make for a much easier life for her!

How could she ever, ever, EVER trust again if now (in a loving, furrever home) her beloved new mommy had her put to sleep, only to wake up with NO leg at all, putting her through another mutilation? It would be different if illness necessitated such drastic treatment but that doesn't sound like it is the case at all.

I hope the monster who cut off her foot does not have any other show cats ... or any pets or any children to take out this vile destructive temper on. It would be nice to think such a person would be in jail but I doubt that is the case. I also hope all cat clubs have banned her from participation in ANY show event, ever - and that does sound like an achievable goal.

Hi from Bonnie, Buttons and Lucy Loo

What a shock it was to read little Pixy's story. I have never been a fan of Cat or Dog shows and feel some of the people that belong to these clubs are often fanatics that live their lives through their animals. Sadly in this instance the perpetrator of this horrible deed was most likely mentally ill, however that does not excuse the act.

Pixy, what a sweet and beautiful girl you are! Your fur looks so soft and I could spend all day petting you and listening to you purrrrr. I'm glad you are learning to trust your new family; there are people in this world who love cats, and all animals, for the wonderful miracles they are. Pixy, I wish all the best to you with many happy and healthy years with your family who loves you so much.

What a beautiful kitty! She deserves all kinds of love and treats.

Reading her story enraged me and then made me cry. I know I shouldn’t be, but I am shocked that someone would do that to an animal.

Thankfully she is now in a place where she is loved.
