what would you do if your town became flooded and you had to swim to get to safety?

Swim to some wood and build a raft, so Miss Hoppy could ride along and stay dry. Realistically, given the hills that I live on, if we were flooded out, that would mean most of eastern Massachusetts would also be underwater, and dry land would be too far away to swim to. So I'd have probably either evacuated earlier, or built a raft/boat out of the wood in my home big enough for all of us, then rowed away!

What would you do if you had to choose between two equally close friends, and know the other would be hurt and not be your friend any more?
