REST IN PEACE GRACIE. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DON'T MISS YOU.
Yeah after we get snuggles socialized more I would like to start taking her to brenner our local childrens hospital. She is such a silly dog she would have those kids laughing like crazy and laughter is the best medicine!!!!![]()
I don't know much about this because I have never thought about doing it with my dogs. But I am sure you can find some information here. I hope I could help you out!
In our local Newspaper they advertise for anyone over the age of 18 with a pet who thinks they would be good at this line of service. I have thought about starting with Konnor. He loves to give Kisses, is sweet and very obedient.
I would ask around with some trainers, local humane societies any dog people you know. More likely then not you will find a group that does it.
Also, I trained a service dog named Breeze for Paws with a Cause. If you google the organization you will get information on them. They send foster dog's all over the United States and are very helpful, so if it's something you are interested in I recommend them.

Wow, thank you! I didn't think about asking humane societies and whatnot.Originally Posted by Aspen and Misty

What you are describing is what is commonly referred to as a "therapy dog". More often than not, your dog will need to prove itself capable of tolerating high stress situations through an official evaluation. As well, your dog will most likely be required to earn its Canine Good Citizen (CGC) which requires that your dog be well behaved and socialized in itself (your dog does NOT have to be purebred or registered with the AKC to earn its CGC).
