My bush (the previous owners, although had some great plants, took very little care of them) is pretty "wild" looking and is becoming too large for the area it is in. It seems as I could dig up a section of it & replant it. Do you think it would handle that well?
I asked Bernard about this! First of all, do NOT replant it NOW! The roots are very small, so it is a difficult plant to rehome! The best time is
in October, when the leaves start falling. You need to water the plant very well then!! Do NOT trim it, you risk to kill it! Oh, when you replant it, be careful to keep as much dirt around the roots as possible. The azalea also needs a sour soil, so you should buy a bag of this; it is very important that you do this! Last but not least: this is a "thirsty" plant
Good luck!
