So do you like fantasy? (I'm a little confused there) 'Cause the first books on my favorites list ARE sci-fi...like Lord of the Rings, Eragon, Eldest, etc...I highly recommend these ones, and all three are extremely thick books too! hehe Eragon and Eldest are the first two books in a trilogy about dragons, elves, men, magic, and good verses evil by a 17-yr-old named Christopher Paolini. I'm excited 'cause the movie Eragon is coming out this fall too!
