Niño- The shelter told us his name was “Nino” but when we got him home, we realized he understood commands in Spanish. So then we knew it was pronounced Niño. To this day we don’t know if that was really his name or if they thought the shelter people were asking what sex he was when really they were asking his name. It really fits him though.
Oslo- He is named after the capitol of Norway
Tigger- When I got her I was 5 years old and she happens to be grey and orange. She was up on her legs and tail against the glass trying to climb out of the tank when I saw her and I thought she looked like she was bouncing on her tail like Tigger.
Terrance- My sister’s gerbil. My sister found out that gerbils were originally from Mongolia, so in the car on the way home from the pet store the only thing I could think of was Mongolian Tarripans (wild horses) And my sister thought that that would be a good sounding name, so we then thought of the name Terrance. We call him “Turr” or “FatTurr” though.
