Oh Michelle how wonderful to see these pictures and videos! It really looks like you all had a wonderful time at a beautiful place.
The pups look very at home in the room by the fire or out in the ocean waves
Now why isn't there a picture of you in there

Thanks so much for posting these!

What? Huh? I don't believe it! You posted pictures . Woo Hoo! What a great way to end my night. I was just getting ready to go to bed and spotted the word SPOTTIES. I'm so happy to see those gorgeous dogs of yours. Looks like you guys had a nice weekend getaway. What a great place to go. Love the view, the fireplace, the ocean and beach. Now that is my kind of holiday. Captain and Ruby look like they love running in and out of the water and had a great time there. I just love those 2 spotted furkids of yours!

*Sigh* I'm off to bed now and I hope I have some wonderful spottie dog dreams

What a joy to see Captain and Ruby in motion and hear their voices. And the sound of the sea - oh, that was a real treat for someone who is land locked. That trip down the ocean road had to be awesome. You do live in one amazingly beautiful part of the world.

I have that vegetable steamer and it is one kitchen utencil I wouldn't be without. I use it several times a week. Makes any ordinary pot into a steamer with no fuss, no bother, easy to clean and store.

Thank you all for letting me know what that "thing" was
"nother Dumb question tho - do you open it enough to just place it OVER the water and put a lid on to trap the steam?

Must admit, I thought I knew what a lot of things were in the kitchen, but THAT I had never seen!

Thanks also for the lovely comments. I know I don't post pics often, and videos - Ha, I forget my camera can do those, so I do appreciate all your lovely feedback.

    Cheers

    Michelle

Michelle, I just open it, stick it in the pot (it will adjust to the size of the pot and fits in all with the exception of a very small sauce pan). Then I pour a small amount water in the bottom of the pot, so the amount remains under the steamer but still enough to not run dry (about an inch). Add your vegetables to the steamer basket, cover the pot, and put on high enough heat to get the water boiling. The steam from the boiling water cooks the vegetables. Once the water is boiling good, you can even turn the heat down (or even off) and it will still steam enough to continue cooking. Steam cooks fairly fast, so don't over cook.
