That, and Dazzi tries to "break it up" when bigger dogs are just playing! She's a small girl with a big attitude! I remember her spending quite a bit of time in the "time out" pen that time she came ...

That's what I mean by overwhelming for Dazzi. She just can't resist breaking up a bunch of rowdy dogs.

And Pippi likes to be chased but when she sees a ton of huskies behind her she gets scared and runs all the harder. I'm afraid the "pack" mentality might take over and she might get hurt. After all she only weighs 17 lbs.

Hey, when you think your two brothers (Taggert and Snoopy) are playing too hard (being rowdy) and have to break them up what do you think that 7 or 8 huskies chasing another dog means to her? You know she IS the boss of the dog park don't you. At least she thinks so - lol

Money is pretty tight right now but I'm hoping to go. Gas prices will
play a part in deciding. It really sounds like fun.

Just bumping this up to make sure this is seen by all who attend. I *think* I see more people saying they are coming in the gathering thread than the ones who replied here.

Not 100% sure yet, but we're hoping to make it up for the weekend so we can come. I probably won't know for sure until closer to the event. But if we do, most likely all 3 girls will be there, Destiny, Dakota, and Sierra!

Yay!!! Can't wait. I did finally send away for my park pass, I just haven't decided if I am going to try to drive all the way to Findlay in one day or stop short and finish driving the morning of the meet. But, it looks like we will be there to help these gorgeous pups celebrate. Thanks Anna!!!

If you could just RSVP in this thread I'd really appreciate it.
Oh and if you have dogs at home that aren't able to come to the park please include them also...can't having them be left out

Oh and we have another birthday boy to add to the celebration...CRAYOLA!
(His birthday is May 12) Since he and Gina are now coming she wanted her big boy to be part of the celebration and you know we can't have anyone (or dog ) being left out of the festivities!

Aren't these pups going to look terrific on the cake

Huskies are not the only dogs that chase you know. Every time I have been to a dog park if a dog runs, everyone chases including many other breeds. When Pippi gets scared it's because of the number of dogs chasing her, not the breed of dogs! Sydney weighs 17 lbs and she lives with a husky, gosh I'm not sure how she survives! I wouldn't take her to a dog park unless I wanted to hold her the whole time, I know she'd run and *dogs* of various breeds would chase her.

Amy, I was not putting huskies down as a breed. I was just commenting that the last time we had Pippi there that there was a large number of huskies (check out Cyber-sibe's video) that were running as a "pack" and as you said chasing any dog that ran (again the video shows them chasing Dakota, the Dane). I do not think that the fact that they were running as a pack was wrong since we are at a dog park and that is the reason for bringing dogs to a dog park. And yes it is my repsonsibility to make sure my dog being smaller does not get hurt. We had already decided that since both Dazzi and Pippi are not good with large numbers of dogs plus Jasmine was there that I would be taking them home early. Some smaller dogs don't have the sense (and I am speaking of my Pipsqueak) to come back to their parents. Once I did get her she was on my shoulder unto it was time to go.

I have been at the dog park when owners of larger breeds have ignored their dogs when chasing a smaller one and having the smaller one hurt. Which is why most dog parks should have a separate area for size. Because they have not had problems in the past, dog owners of both sizes can be ignorant in what could happen and don't pay enough attention until it is too late.

And yes I have seen packs of dogs of other breeds (of various breeds) chase smaller dogs before.

I was not "picking" on huskies. Anyone who knows Dazzi and the dog park knows that she has a "protector" "mother" instinct and she will protect other dogs from certain dogs (and both "other" and "certain" can be any dog at any moment at her discretion) Her brothers are included in that number and she will snap (not to hurt) to let them know she has had enough of their rowdiness. This has been discussed in another thread where there was a question as to whether dogs can really tell other breeds apart or not, but those who have been around her know that she has probelms with certain breeds more than others. Goldens (I think she is jealous cause she is only part one), husky and German Short haired pointers )are the 3 breeds she has had her little skirmishes with. That is why for the most part she does not come to Dog Park gatherings. On the day we are discussing again, I knew I was going home early and she would not be there long. And also she can be put in put in the time out cage if I get tired of her behavior.

I am sorry Amy if you took this personally about Nebo or huskies in general - it was just a comment that I made without thinking someone would take personally. And I have always wanted a husky so I would never bash a breed that I love anyway.
