Amy, I was not putting huskies down as a breed. I was just commenting that the last time we had Pippi there that there was a large number of huskies (check out Cyber-sibe's video) that were running as a "pack" and as you said chasing any dog that ran (again the video shows them chasing Dakota, the Dane). I do not think that the fact that they were running as a pack was wrong since we are at a dog park and that is the reason for bringing dogs to a dog park. And yes it is my repsonsibility to make sure my dog being smaller does not get hurt. We had already decided that since both Dazzi and Pippi are not good with large numbers of dogs plus Jasmine was there that I would be taking them home early. Some smaller dogs don't have the sense (and I am speaking of my Pipsqueak) to come back to their parents. Once I did get her she was on my shoulder unto it was time to go.

I have been at the dog park when owners of larger breeds have ignored their dogs when chasing a smaller one and having the smaller one hurt. Which is why most dog parks should have a separate area for size. Because they have not had problems in the past, dog owners of both sizes can be ignorant in what could happen and don't pay enough attention until it is too late.

And yes I have seen packs of dogs of other breeds (of various breeds) chase smaller dogs before.

I was not "picking" on huskies. Anyone who knows Dazzi and the dog park knows that she has a "protector" "mother" instinct and she will protect other dogs from certain dogs (and both "other" and "certain" can be any dog at any moment at her discretion) Her brothers are included in that number and she will snap (not to hurt) to let them know she has had enough of their rowdiness. This has been discussed in another thread where there was a question as to whether dogs can really tell other breeds apart or not, but those who have been around her know that she has probelms with certain breeds more than others. Goldens (I think she is jealous cause she is only part one), husky and German Short haired pointers )are the 3 breeds she has had her little skirmishes with. That is why for the most part she does not come to Dog Park gatherings. On the day we are discussing again, I knew I was going home early and she would not be there long. And also she can be put in put in the time out cage if I get tired of her behavior.

I am sorry Amy if you took this personally about Nebo or huskies in general - it was just a comment that I made without thinking someone would take personally. And I have always wanted a husky so I would never bash a breed that I love anyway.
