A Special Day for the E's

Sara, I'm not sure I ever heard the story about how/when you got Edwina ... or I'm having a senior moment.

Edwina really is sweet, and oh so soft. I'm glad she is willing to pose in all her hats for us - what style she has!

You know my favourite is Eddie, he is simply gorgeous! I remember very well when you got him, I was on pins and needles that weekend. I SO hoped he would charm his way in and befriend Edwina. It took a while, but it was worth it!

LOL about your wedding anniversary - you sure can't blame Don if he ever forgets.

Debbie, have you still got the photos of Eddie you posted when you got the note about him? I didn't find them last I searched.

WOW! How unusual is it that both the E's have been COTD on the same day, but on different years!??!!!???

They are such adorable little ones, and I always love the stories written in their diary!

Edwina is especially gorgeous when she shows us one of her latest fashion hats!

I understand about dates and lack of memory! It is hard when there are so many in a family. I have 4 older sisters, all married. 27 nieces and nephews (including their spouses) and 10 great nieces and nephews.... and a set of twin nephews and another single baby (sex unknown!) on the way! It is just toooooo hard to keep track of all of that, although I try my best. No one gets mad if their special day is forgotten as they understand!

Oh my gosh Debbie! That skinny little thing is my Eddie????? Once he does the tummy roll....it's him.....

I'm come by my lack of sentimentality for dates legitimately. My father tells the story of when he was a boy. One night at dinner he announced a realization that had just come to him. It had been his birthday a few weeks before. Neither he, his mother, father, or siblings had remembered!

One of my favorite stories and pictures of the whole "The E's" threads is when Eddie tried to come up from the cellar and HH said so simply in the caption to the picture "Get back, Basement Boy". Poor Eddy heh heh heh, who had the last laugh

Hee, hee, you noticed that too? I also noticed how dirty he was. In the tummy roll shot, you can see his tummy is not the pristine white it is now, and in the one with his front paw hanging off the front of the chair, you can see how dirty his paw is. Poor little boy. I also remember that his dirtiness is one of the first ways I knew he was a real special boy. Before I dropped him off by you I wanted to clean him up a bit (first impressions and all). Knowing he had all his claws, there was no way I was going to attempt a full bath, but I did try to clean his front feet in the sink. He fought it, but not once did he "pull a claw on me." That's when I first started realizing just what a special laid back kinda guy he is.......which has ultimately come in handy with his dealings with HH.

Now he's well fed and secure enough that he can take the time to groom properly. Of course, living in a pristine beautiful home helps too.

Then they are these. He was so scared at first that he wouldn't come out from under the drafting table in my boss's office, but he sure knew how to look cute for me when I went in and got on my hands and knees to make sure he was doing ok. The last few pics are when he was starting to feel a little more comfortable.

I miss my little office buddy, but I would much rather have him in the wonderful home he's in rather than here with me at the office.
