I went to nursing school, made it through all the coursework with flying colors, got to my first clinical and almost threw up on my patient! I learned the hard way that I don't have the stomach to be a nurse, but I love trauma. My next move? What else, a paramedic, right? Trauma, sure! The first week, we were learning to intibate people. I found out that people throw up on you a lot, I checked out the next day. I then went to beauty school as I love to do hair and nails. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the whole beauty school sweat shop, but it's basically cheap labor. The students don't get paid. Your tips are your income. I had a lady come in, wanted a full set of nails, pedicure, hair cut, color and perm. I worked on her ALL DAY! She was my only client for the day. She tipped me $.50!

My next move is to go to culinary school to become a pastry chef. I've always loved to back. I want to open my own bakery some day. It'll be doggie friendly, too!

I'm graduating this Saturday with my MA! my concentration was Art History. I also completed a BFA back in 2002. (I'm a late bloomer - didn't get to start college till I was 45)
(Amy/Cincy'smom - your work sounds very interesting!)

    Congrats Pat!!

For the most part, it is interesting, and I enjoy it. I get to see and hear about alot of the new devices that will be coming out before they are released. Although I can't say a lot about most of it, one of the new projects we are bidding on testing is the packaging for a canine pain med. The manufacturer is really going above and beyond the FDA requirements for a vet med, which of course makes me happy!! Their feeling is that package for animals medicines should be just as safe as it is for humans ( European agencies require this, US does not). Anyway, it is easy to get off on a tangent because it is interesting!!

I ultimately will probably end up going to Davis, but Cornell is where my heart lies Of course, the tuition is through the roof and I'm doubtful I can make it in, so chances are I'll go to Davis. Plus, I can drive home every weekend to see my pups!

I have 2 more years to make up my mind, but hopefully zoology. I have wanted to be a zookeeper (big cats) for many years. I understand:
    -it's a very competitive job
    -the salary is not great
-you have to intern for at least 2 years before you can even think about getting a real job

My backups are something in the field museum, eventually curator. I mom had the best job when I was young, she researched a culture, then wrote the displays at the Field Museum. It combines my two favorite subjects; history and english, and for once, not much math!<< I hate math!!!!!!!!!!

Whatever I do I will be making adds for dogs and taking pictures on the side.
