I made sure my bosses knew what day it was.
I got a big bouquet from one boss and then the whole staff got me a small bouquet and a basket with tea/chocolate/tea cup/tea pot.
It's been a good day.

Being a support person myself, I guess I can weigh in on this. Never liked the idea. Just give me the respect and consideration I deserve and pay me what I am worth. I don't think that any particular position should be singled out for flowers, candy, or a free meal. Just seems a bit gratuitous to me and in that way demeaning. Hope I'm not offending anyone who enjoys this type of *recognition*, just wanted to say that I don't.

It can be the receptionist, executive assistant, secretary, accounting clerk, department coordinator, etc.

Apparently, my assistant is taking this whole thing to heart- she is on some cruise in some warm and sunny tropical place of the world, as we speak!
However, her birthday is next week...now, THAT gets a little pressie for her
