Does your dog on a leash when you take him/her for a walk?

My Aussie and Newf yes i need a leash,but my Border Collie Maggy no i bring her leash but she stays at my side if i see someone coming i put her on "Just in Case" we have always said about Maggy we could leave for a couple days and she would still be in the same spot when we returned she is so smart when it comes to knowing boundries and no training has gone into this dog.They say though you never will have the same i dont know all my border collies have all been smart...that is why i love the breed.

All three of mine are leashed 100% of the time on walks. Not only is it the law since I don't take them to off-leash areas, but their recall isn't 100% reliable yet so I'm not willing to risk it. I do take them to the park to work on their recall, but they always have a long leash attached to them just in case. Even when their recall improves I'm going to keep them leashed, I just want them to know it well in case there's an emergency.
