Then I think it could be a Canon! The Powershot S2 IS seems to be perfect for me... Now I only need to check if it fits my budget. I will go to Walmart and see all the Canons and the Nikons, though....

I know a lot of people use Canon, but a couple professional photographers that I've seen on other boards rely heavily on Nikon. I think for the most bang for your buck, Canon probably rules, but Nikons can take SUPERB pictures.

I have to vote Nikon. I compared a Canon and Nikon before I bought my new one. The 2 were both SLRs so not exactly what your looking for but between those 2 the Nikon had better image quality even though the Canon had the higher pixel ratio 6.2 vs I think 8.

I have been researching lately and got down to the Canon rebel and the Nikon D50 and have decided to go with the Nikon.
