That is true for all of our cats as well! The newest addition would be the first that may, or may not, "pick" so I am just trying to make sure everything goes smooth. Heh, Tier was given to us by one of my husbands coworkers who felt bad because she did not have enough time to spend with him. Then he passed away and Soni just showed up on our porch three weeks, to the day, later and we kept him. Before Soni showed up we had agreed to adopt one of the kittens that another coworkers pregnant cat was going to have. Heh, Isis is a mama's girl, you can really tell. When we went to pick out a kitty Troy held up my two choices and I couldn't decide so I just pointed to her (I guess the only factor was she was the one who acted interested. I mean, I had nothing else to go on.). I sat down on the lady's couch and Isis promptly went to sleep. She never lets anyone else hold her, pet her, or cuddle her while they are awake but me. She likes to knead, cuddle, and sleep with my husband at night.

organge girlies are hardtocome by, and the one i nticed at the pet shop was quickly snapped up. i ahve never had an orange cat, but apparently the easist to train,a nd black ones are the hardest.

I love my precious kittens and I hope they have long and happy lives filled with love.

Cats and dogs arent pets, theyre family members that need the same respect as humans. Would you dump your children out in the countryside to fend for themselves??

Out of my guys, my orangies are the most laid back of the group. If I bring in a foster, I know I can count on the boys to be sweet and welcoming to the newcomer.

I never picked any of them.... they all just came here. My orange and white boy, Harry, was adopted and the adoption fell through (he was a foster that never left) and one day I went to take him to an adoption event and hubby told me that Harry was not going anywhere. He could have knocked me over with a feather with that statement! Harry is most definately hubby's boy.

Allen is my first cat, the King of the house. He's a huge 20 pounder and very much a sweetheart.

Pouncer is my silly, naughty boy, who's always getting into trouble and constantly at the vet because of something or other he got into he's a brown tabby. My girls are also brown tabbies.... and just as bad. I LOVE "nawtee" kitties!

But basically, all 5 chose us. We didn't pick them. I wouldn't trade any of them in for the world (though I pretend ot offer Harry back to the rescue just to see hubby's panicked look! )

I've noticed that they are hard to come by but that's not necessarily a deciding factor for me anyways. I was just joking about "completing our kitty colour spectrum". I can imagine that she was!

Oliver was always very laid back as well. The big ol' rottweiler didn't bother him a bit. Neither did the rat or hamsters.

Heh, that sounds kind of like what happened with Soni! We got him all cleaned up and I offered to find a home for him and my husband was all, "Nuh uh. That cat isn't going any place."

First kitty ever? What was that like for ya?

Our situations keep sounding alike! Somebody that we live with was careless enough to leave the door open (while husband was at work and I was asleep) and Soni got out. Well, I couldn't find him all day and then his dad came home and told me that Soni was outside and so he brought him inside (He had just walked in the door with Soni in his hands). Well, we might have to take Soni to the vet because this is Day Two of treating his foot wound with hydrogen peroxide, antibiotic ointment, and gauze. It doesn't look like it's improving... He's VERY nawtee, probably got into a fight with one of the outside cats.

don't even get me started on Isis. She's just the worst of 'em all.

I know an orange tabby that hides his head in the crook of my elbow,
Drools all over me, licks me until it hurts and hisses for no good reason.

What else does a male orange do?

Our orange boy Leo is just the sweetest, cuddliest boy. He loves to snuggle up to us all the time, and he lives for belly rubs. He's very funny and boisterous at times, and can be talkative, greeting us at the door most days when we come home from work with a funny sounding meow. The other orange cats we've come across at shelters seem very sweet every time. Leo was the sweetest we've ever met, though, coming to meet us while he was up for adoption and hopping on our laps right away.

Good luck, but remember, the cats kind of do "choose" you. That's been our experience.

Thanks to krazyaboutkatz for the cute avatar and wolf_Q for the cute siggy!

Rest in Peace, sweet Leo. You are sorely missed!
Since I last posted, we have another new addition - Tabitha, as of fall 2008.

Aw, he sounds like a very darling boy! He reminds me of Soni!

That would be our experience if there were more than one kitty involved in any of the situations! Tier was given to us by a coworker of Troy's and she felt bad because not only did she not have the time she felt he needed but he had to stay in her room because of other pets and he was VERY small. Soni just showed up, three weeks to the day after we had to have Tier PTS, on my birthday last year and he has been with us ever since. After Tier passed, but before we got Soni, another lady who worked with Troy told us that one of her females (a Siamese) had gotten pregnant by one of her males (a Ragdoll). We agreed to take in a female kitten. She did have a rather large litter but all but two of the girls were spoken for. When we went to pick her up, Troy held out Isis (was called Fruit Loop by the wench room mate of the lady) and her available sister. The sister just kind of sat there and wasn't very attentive while Isis just stared at me with her eyes. I think that's pretty much what got me. I grabbed her up, sat on the couch, and she promptly fell asleep! Been a mama's girl ever since. Pics:

I have only one picture of Isis and neither a scanner nor a picture disk. I must remember to get a camera soon!
