I know that our vet suggested we wait until Natalie was over a year old to train her to jump hurdles, and Hogan cannot start weight-pull until he is past one- so that would be my one bit of advice- just be sure your dog is not still growing.
Edited to add- Hogan also has to have his OFAs first- to be sure there are no hip or joint problems. Nattie is a mixed breed, so there is no standard for OFAs, but we did have her checked by a vet.
