Yes but most don't even use heaters in them (well some don't, not most) and they do fine at room temperature

*nod* I don't use a heater on Sebastian's tank, and he does great. Oh, and another thing, make sure you get a tank with a lid, and if you happened to get one with a filter, I heard bettas don't like strong currents.

I don't have a pic of Xambi's tank, but I can get one after my family gets home tonight. It is a 2.5 gallon tank, with a couple of fake plants and a filter. He seems to not mind the filter, and I have one that is set up for a small tank (it can be adjusted for larger and smaller tanks) One thing that I have heard about filters, is that their fins can get stuck in them and cause damage, so I put a clean nylon(sp?) over mine. It seems to work well with Xambi...

I completely rearranged Kale's 5 gallon tank. Now it has two live plants, a terra cotta pot, a medium-sized piece of driftwood, a 50w heater turned to about 72 (since it's a bit powerful for a 5 gallon) and a whisper mini-filter. I usually just pull the cartrige up a little bit to make the current lighter.
