I could be double jointed in my hip joints. I don't know if I really am, or whether it's possible, but some people have told me I am. I can bend my leg, twist it and then hold it under my armpit. I can also get my leg to go straight all the way up my back, then bend my knee so my foot touches my head. I don't think that is being double-jointed though, but it's weird anyway

I would definitely say that you are double jointed Miss Z. There is no question about it.

It always amazes me when people can contort their bodies in certain ways. I have to be honest though, that sometimes it gives me the heebie jeebies to see certain things that some people can do.

I wouldn't even be able to attempt what you described.

My thumbs are the same as your sons and my ring finger on both hands do the same thing.

Yes, my thumbs are like that as well. I can also bend just the top joints of my fingers.

My fingers are, I guess, the top part of them can bend. My sisters boyfriend is definently double jointed. He can pop his arm out of his shoulder (kinda hard to explain, but its REALLY gross) and it looks as if it's been dislocated. All that is holding it is the skin and stuff (or at least that's how it looks).

I did some googling myself Debbie on this subject. I will have to check out that quiz that you posted.

A dictionary definition of double-jointedness makes it clear: it is " having unusually flexible joints that can bend in unusual ways or to abnormally great extent."

Many people have a finger or arm that they can bend in an unusual way. This is quite common.

I didn't know that this was quite common. Oh well, I guess I will have to tell my son that he is just common. LOL!!!!

This is what my sister can do also.

Well, I read that there is no such thing as being Double-Jointed... it's just some people have more flexible joints than other people

But I can do this with my finger...

    And this...

    This with my thumb...

    And this with my wrist...

LOL Can anyone else? Am I normal haha??

I'm also double jointed on my thumb but only on my left hand. I've always called it my hitch hikers thumb.

My two older sibling are double jointed on a couple fingers on each hand, and always made fun of me because I am not. They'd just bend that top joint over by itself on both hands and look at me and say "What do you mean you can't do this? Everyone can!"
