    R.I.P Merlin!

    Merlin my betta wasnt doing so well a couple days ago he was just not himself when I put his food in he would just sit there. And I just looked in his tank and he was gone....r.i.p Merlin!!!!

    But what I find is weird. I know they breath through their gills and I know this must sound like super rediculous but he was like digging his face into the gravle this morning but he seemed to be getting better so I thought nothing of it but it looked like he was sufficating himself

    Bettas breath through a labyrinth organ, not their gills. Its similar to lungs. They can suffocate if they can't go to the surface even within a few minutes.
