Happy First Day of Spring! (pic)

    HAPPY FIRST DAY OF SPRING!!!

It's cold and rainy here with possible snow tonight!!!

These jonquils were from my old house and the pic was taken in the Lady Bug room in my new house. I made the vase years ago when I owned a ceramic shop.

    ENJOY!

No matter what anyone does, someone some where will be offended some how!!!!

Same here. It's still snowing. We'll be shoveling the driveway on the first day of Spring. That just ain't right!

Ah Spring, my very favourite time of year. We have gorgeous weather here. It's going to be sunny all day with a high of 13 degrees....for you non-metric folks that's around 56 F. If you ask me, it's shorts weather for sure.

MOFF, I've never heard of daffodils being called jonquils. Is it a US term??? LOLOLOL ....or is it a different variety of daffodil?? Nice vase MOFF! I've made a few in my time too.

My mom left a message on my answering machine this morning and told me that I had to stop work at exactly 10:26am and welcome the Spring...which, of course, I forgot to do so.....

    WELCOME SPRING!
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I don't know if calling daffodils jonquils is a US thing but it is a Kansas thing. I put both names in Ask Jeeves under the image section and it brought flowers that look alike up.

I think both daffodils and jonquils are sub-groups of the narcissus family, but don't quote me.
