thanks zoomer! i'll check out the links!

unfortinatly the shelter close to me doesn't want my help. i offerd to donate 2 50lb bags of purina pro plan dog food. they didn't want it. i've tried to call them,e-mail, and go to the shelter to ask about being a foster home. they never return my calles or say they don't need anyone at the time. i think that is VERY odd. all their kennels are full, but they don't need foster homes? i also offerd to make them a website. they said they do just fine without one.

If Mandy weren't dog aggressive we'd be fostering. We could foster puppies, but we hardly get them in at the humane society and rescues here - they all go to the shelter and our shelter doesn't do foster homes.

I don't think I could foster, it would be way too hard on Tango (she only likes certain temperaments) and even if I could I'd probably have a tough time giving most of them up...

We did foster for about a year (we had 6 dogs at various times during that period). It was a wonderful experience. But we did run into some problems, and I probably won't do it again until I have a fenced in backyard. But, if I ever get a place with a fenced in backyard, I will definitely do it again. Both Ginger and I enjoyed it very much.

We foster but not for a rescue. The whole city knows my mom as the crazy animal woman and I can't tell you how many times we've come home to dogs in our kennel or one of our backyards or cats in cages or under laundry baskets. Right now we have 2 cats that were left abandoned in an apartment and Sally a 9 week old Rottweiler puppy.
